Sunshine Coast Hospice Society is teaming up with Tim Hortons for this year’s Smile Cookie Campaign.
Gibsons Tim Hortons owner Klaus Fuerniss, a long-time supporter of hospice on the Coast, approached hospice president Ali Khan earlier this year to see if he was interested in getting involved in this campaign. When Ali found out that every dollar from the sales of the cookies would come directly to hospice, he did not hesitate to say yes.
Smile Cookies are big chocolate chunk cookies with a smile on top and are sold for $1 each. They are only available for one week annually, and this year they will be on the Coast from Sept. 14 to 20. They can be pre-ordered before Sept. 11 and will be personally delivered to individual homes or workplaces during Smile Cookie week.
To pre-order your cookies, individually or by the dozen, call hospice volunteer Linda Stroud at 778-459-2017. Look for hospice volunteers selling Smile Cookies in front of Canadian Tire, London Drugs, St. Mary’s Thrift Store and at the Pender Harbour Jazz Festival. Tim Hortons will also have them on hand for that week.
Since every dollar from the cookie sales will go toward end-of-life and bereavement support for Coast residents, the Sunshine Coast Hospice is grateful to have been selected to participate in this generous campaign.
