Pender Harbour Health Centre’s new wheelchair-accessible van.

Yes! Great news! We are not dreaming – not only will we have a doctor in the community but a wonderful new service. The Pender Harbour Health Centre has purchased a wheelchair-accessible van to operate in our community, helping seniors to obtain transportation to their medical appointments. As all of you know, transportation is an ongoing problem for many of our senior people. This purchase was made possible by generous donations from our community and public grants.

If you need a ride to a medical appointment, please call the community coordinator at 604-251-7488 any Wednesday from 8 to 4 p.m. to arrange a ride for the following week. Please allow as much notice as possible to ensure a ride is available.

There is a fee attached to this service depending on where you live and the destination. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call and inquire.

The Bargain Barn will open March 3. Thanks to the generous support of our Royal Canadian Legion Branch 112 Madeira Park for providing the temporary home of The Barn until further notice.

The Barn will be open Wednesdays and Saturdays noon until 3 p.m. Donations will be accepted as of Friday, March 12 at the Pender Harbour Community Hall 1 to 3:30 p.m. and Fridays from then on. Visit Bargainbarnpender.weebly.com for news and to shop their eBay store.

Egmont Thrift Shop, a most delightful place to shop, has a new Facebook page to visit and like.

Coming soon, the Rotary 50/50 Fundraiser via Facebook where you will have a chance each month to win 50 per cent of the pot while supporting local community Rotary projects. Stay tuned for details with the link starting March 1.

Congratulations and thank you to Grill-it!, the fantastic new food truck at Earls Cove. You have brought deliciousness and pure joy to our community!
