Pender Harbour Music Society’s Coffee House this Friday, Sept. 14 is the perfect way to spend a fall night enjoying great local performers. Doors open at 7 p.m. with music at 7:30 p.m. at the School of Music. Katrina Bishop, singer songwriter extraordinaire, Kozlof Girls, vocal harmonies with piano and ukulele, Roger Maidens, singer, guitarist, and Sokole, women’s vocal group grace the stage this evening. Sunday, Sept. 16 another musical event at the School of Music, Adi Braun will perform at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25 at Harbour Insurance, Sechelt Visitor Centre and www.penderharbourmusic.ca.

The call is out for volunteers and folks with pick ups to participate in SCRD’S annual Backroad Trash Bash community cleanup this Saturday, Sept. 15, starting at 11 a.m. at PH Lions Park. Enjoy doing good work and a BBQ lunch and possible prize rewards.

The artists of the Harbour Gallery would like to thank everyone who supported the local art scene and visited the gallery in July and August. Summer hours are over but the gallery will be open Saturdays in September, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and during special events. Throughout the year artists meet and paint Tuesdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. They extend an invitation to drop in, meet and see them at work. You just might want to take up a brush. New members are always welcome.

Ruby Lake Lagoon Society will host a Salmon Celebration Saturday, Sept. 22, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Iris Griffith Nature Centre. This is a tribute to salmon with no salmon on the menu, a display of art by Shelley Stunell and students, and storytelling by Pender Harbour elders. Tea, coffee and cake too. By donation to the Ruby Lake Lagoon Society.
