Here are a few Harbour highlights you will want to take in before the summer season winds down, just a week away.
Harbour Gallery Summer Show is on daily until Aug. 31 by Millennium Park (government dock) in one of the heritage Forestry Buildings. Motoko Fine Art Studio and Gallery is also open until Aug. 31, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Garden Bay. Visit motoko.ca for a preview.
Madeira Farmers’ Market is on every Friday until Sept. 28 across from IGA from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with local fresh produce, eggs, baking and more.
Slow Sundays at the FibreWorks yurts is a great chance to meet and share ideas and inspiration while working on your current handwork project. Bring something for the potluck table, too, 1 to 5 p.m. For more info, call 604-883-2380.
Wednesdays at the Pender Harbour Golf Course, come enjoy fun and games at Birdies, Bites and Bevvies, a nine-hole teamed event on until Oct. 3.
Seniors Initiative has activities starting with chair yoga Tuesday, Aug. 28, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Sarah Wray Hall, and carpet bowling Wednesday 1 to 3 p.m. Harbourside Friendship, on Thursday, Aug. 30, enjoy the wonderful music with Joan and Ted starting at 10:30 a.m. with lunch served at noon Drop in $10. Friday, a second chair yoga class is on, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
