Time to party and dance this Saturday night when the Pender Harbour Blues Society presents the all time favourite party group Brickhouse at the PH Community Hall. Tickets are $30 if any are left; you can check at www.phblues.ca or Java Docks and Strait Music. This Easter Dance Party is a fundraiser for the annual blues festival June 1 to 3.
Easter Sunday the Pender Harbour Lions Club will host a delicious pancake breakfast starting at 9 a.m. Fueled up for fun the kids will be ready, set go for the Great Easter Egg Hunt at noon at Lions Park.
Sunshine Coast BCSPCA will be hosting their second Annual Easter Eggcitement event at Persephone Brewing Sunday 9 to 11 a.m. This fun, child friendly event features an Easter egg hunt, crafts, games and prizes, humane education presentations, a bake sale, coffee and tea. A fun event, and you will help the animals in need on the Coast.
The shelter is full with the intake of dogs from the Williams Lake seizure. One has already given birth to seven pups. The staff and new manager Marika Donnelly are doing amazing work with these needy, abused animals. Legendary master of gardening Ron Knight will present Pruning with Confidence at the Pender Harbour Garden Club meeting Monday, April 9, 1 to 3 p.m. at the School of Music. This slideshow presentation will teach the general principles needed to prune any ornamental shrub, tree or vine. Bring a pen for the handout sheets to work on while watching the slides. Annual garden club membership is $15 or $5 drop-in fee. Complimentary tea, coffee and goodies at the beginning of the meeting.
