This Friday, the 53rd annual Christmas Boat Parade leaves the Millennium Park docks at 6 p.m. Boaters and spectators are welcome to muster at the docks to join the festivities.

The annual Christmas Sale for those wishing to give the gift of art continues Saturdays, Dec. 16 and 23, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Harbour Gallery. All prices have been reduced for the month of December only. Also on display is the artist’s latest collaborative piece, Reconnecting. Sale of this unique mosaic co-ordinated by June Malaka will fund the Ada Priest Memorial Bursary for local students. 

This Saturday, Dec. 16, is the Legion’s Christmas turkey and ham draw and pie auction starting at 3:15 p.m. Get there early for a good seat. And pick up your New Year’s Eve dinner and dance tickets featuring the fabulous Apasionado. Robbie Burns Night tickets are also available now. The Legion’s General Meeting is Dec. 21. 

Pender Harbour Music Society presents Sweet Scarlet performing their Winter Songs Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. at the School of Music. Enjoy this special festive season musical treat. Tickets are $25 at penderharbourmusic.ca, Harbour Insurance and Sechelt Visitor Centre. 

The PODS store and EarthFair Store, side by side in downtown Madeira Park, are wonderful places to shop for unique and special gifts for everyone on your list. Treat yourself too! All proceeds go towards making PODS a reality. 

Thursday, Dec. 21 is the shortest day of the year. To mark the occasion, Carole Logtenburg will be holding a winter solstice yoga class at Sarah Wray Hall. Give yourself the gift of light, warmth, peace and relaxation during this busy time. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. The one-hour class is $10 followed by tea and snacks. Please RSVP to Carole at 604-865-0706. 

Mark your calendars. December youth night will take place Dec. 22 at the Pender Harbour Community Hall. 

A very special thank you to Pender Harbour’s beautiful tea angel Aurelia Cardiff. She has gifted recognized and nominated folks throughout our community with a steeped tea party delivered to their place of work. Wonderful!
