This Saturday, Nov. 18, come to the Wildlife Homes Workshop, noon to 4 p.m. at the Iris Griffith Centre. Register at EarthFair Store: 604-883-9006. Build a bat, swallow, owl, duck or bee box. The Iris Griffith Nature Centre is located at 15200 Sunshine Coast Highway. 

Later the same day, come dancing at the Legion at 8 p.m. to the favourite musical sensation, Playback. Tickets at the door $10 for members and $12.50 for non-members. 

The Harbour’s Christ-mas season’s markets and festivities have begun. Mark them on your calendar then get out and enjoy!  

The fourth annual Christmas Art Show is Sunday, Nov. 19, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Sarah Wray Hall, a showing of the fabulous new artwork by Shelley Stunell’s students sponsored by the Pender Harbour Living Heritage Society. Have a refreshment and join in the Christmas carol sing-along with HUGS at 2:30 p.m. 

The Bargain Barn is ready for Christmas with new exciting items arriving daily. Shop early and find out about special events including late night opening Dec. 1. There are lights, gifts, toys, wrapping paper – all at bargain prices!

Sunshine Coast Health-care Auxiliary will be having a Christmas Bake Sale at the Serendipity Craft Fair Nov. 25. “In lieu of Christmas cards” is back. Instead of sending cards on the Coast, your name will be added to a card wishing everyone a Merry Christmas in Coast Reporter in December. Saves time, cards and stamps with donations going to a great cause. Those of you who would like to have your name added to the list and can’t attend the craft fair, please send your name and donation to P.O. Box 101, Madeira Park. Deadline is Dec. 15. Pender Harbour Com-munity Club will be hosting their annual Christmas Craft and Bake Sale Saturday, Dec. 2. Two beautiful handcrafted quilts will be up for auction at this event. To book your table, call Muriel at 604-883-2609 or Marlene at 604-883-9900. 

The Vintage Christmas Market at Sarah Wray Hall is Dec. 2, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy music, crafts, traditions, treasures and treats. Book a table and/or donate vintage items by contacting Ken Johnson at 604-883 0681. 

Pender Ocean Discovery Station is hosting an outdoor event, PODS Pier Party, Dec. 9 from 3 p.m. at Irvine’s Landing. Come enjoy live music, carolling, Christmas lights, food and treats, PODS flag raising and a big bonfire! Everyone is welcome. 

Our Sunshine Coast BCSPCA has created a special market for gently used pet items. Donated items are carefully cleaned then offered at very inexpensive prices. Pop-ups throughout the Coast are all about sharing and caring for furkids. To donate items call 604-989-0851 or drop off at the SPCA branch on Solar Road. Stay tuned for the next Market dates.
