FLAIR on the Coast will be held this Saturday, June 14, 10 a.m. to noon at the Rockwood Centre in Sechelt. They welcome back Leslie McDougall, legal coach, paralegal/investigator with 20 years’ experience in B.C. Leslie will be covering “Estate Planning and Probate Considerations” with strategies to minimize probate and estate disputes. This Cancer Support Group welcomes both men and women receiving cancer treatment, have been through it or caregivers in the Pender Harbour/Egmont area to join them. Harbour Gallery is now open Saturdays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for your pure enjoyment. On display, and for purchase are the beautiful creations of our local and beyond talented artists. From cards to full-scale masterpieces, view enticing captures of our coast and everyday life. 

Bargain Barn: there are plenty of summer treasures at the Bargain Barn, everything from ocean and seaside decor for your cottage, bathing suits, summer hats and lots of things for entertaining on the deck. They are open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donation days are Fridays 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the community hall.  

Skoocumchuck Bakery is now open Wednesday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., until the end of September. Stop by for a hot or cold beverage, a delicious treat and some peaceful green scenery. 

After an intoxicating weekend of the best live music, there is more to look forward to every Sunday at the Legion. There’s also the Blues on The Water event in Gunboat Bay with Peter van Deursen and his band. It’s Saturday, July 19, Starts approximately 3 p.m. (rain or shine). On the host’s dock on the north shore of Gunboat Bay. All are welcome to join from your own dock or on your boat anchored in the Bay. Enjoy, and please be responsible. Standing ovation for the ultimate performance of the 20th Annual Pender Harbour Blues Festival ace organizer Marilyn MacLeod. Marilyn is a solo artist facilitating the individual components involved with putting on such a massive event before orchestrating the event’s tasks to her teams of volunteers. Bravo! Thanks to all and the fabulous performers.   

Help raise the roof! Pender Harbour Community Hall provides a venue for a multitude of organized events and activities in our area. The roof and upper support of this beloved historic building is in need of restoration for its structural integrity, to ensure our collective use and enjoyment for decades to come. Thanks to government funding and private donations the Community Club is now less than $40,000 away from kicking off the roof replacement and hall renovations project. You can help make it happen!
