Kisses and Kicks: June 13 edition

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kisses and kicks for the week of June 13!

  • Kisses to Connor the manager and his Telus Team in the Trail Bay Mall. Very professional, resourceful and compassionate when sorting out concerns. Totally putting great service into customer service.
  • Kisses to Salish Soils who have donated yards of soil to fill new garden beds built to grow fresh produce for the St. Bart’s Food Bank! St. Bart’s is so appreciative!
  • Kisses to Dr. G. Turner for years of volunteering his time and materials to maintain and repair the part of Headlands Road leading to the Marina (duck beach). Those of us who use the road appreciate all that he has done!
  • Kisses to Sam at Anchor Hearing. You went a “hair” beyond excellent with your service. Thank you for many sleep filled nights to come.
  • Kicks to the long-winded blonde lady that turned her ears inward as I described the matter of things in details that were missed and reimagined to fit her own world view.
  • Kisses to the district machine operators that “mow” the road verges: very much appreciated by the joggers (and sloggers).
  • Hugs to the two lovely ladies, plus little dog, who stopped to help me while I waited for BCAA when my car overheated at Davis Bay. So kind!
  • Kisses to the quiet early riser who walks the Gibsons Marina trail at dawn, gently shooing hissing geese and picking up litter so the rest of us can enjoy a peaceful, clean walk later in the day. Your small acts don’t go unnoticed!
  • Kisses to Joe and Chris at Independent Grocers for selling our local farmers’ organic vegetable plants in the Garden Shop. They are skookum. (The people and the plants)
  • Kicks to the individual or individuals that stole the painted birdhouses and birds from the tree in front of the Sechelt Post Office. The staff placed them there for the community’s enjoyment as well as their own. Please return them.  You can buy your own at the dollar store.

Email your Kisses and Kicks to [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is 1 p.m. every Tuesday for a given week.

Coast Reporter will run kisses and kicks entries as space permits on a first-received, first-published basis.

Submissions must be accompanied by a name and phone number for confirmation by the editor. Names will not be printed in the column unless requested by the writer, for kisses only.

A kick is intended to be an anonymous critique between private parties and may in no way publicly identify an individual, group or business directly or indirectly.

Submissions must be no longer than 30 words. If your thanks or critique is longer, consider an ad in our classified section. The editor reserves the right to edit or refuse to run any submission.
