This Friday, Nov. 10, Pender Harbour Music Society’s Coffee House at the School of Music welcomes Java Jazz women’s vocal group, singer Nancy Pincombe with Kenneth Norman Johnson on piano, and vocal duo Teegan and Stella Koch. The Pender Harbour Garden Club welcomes speaker Gwen Odermatt Monday, Nov. 13, 1 to 3 p.m. at the School of Music. Operator for 20 years of Petals and Butter-flies, a farm nursery specializing in growing plants that attract butterflies and benefit wildlife gardens, Odermatt also teaches an advanced master gardener course. Her topic for the meeting will be The Ongoing Building of a Garden. Drop in $5 includes complimentary coffee, tea and sweets.

Pender Harbour Wild-life presents Calgary geologist Peter Hews Tuesday, Nov. 14, 7 p.m. at Pender Harbour Secondary School. Twelve years ago Peter discovered a dinosaur skull and horn in southern Alberta. This turned out to be a new species and genus of Ceratopsian dinosaur. Peter will share photos of the discovery and ten year journey to have it displayed and into pre-history books. Home-baked refreshments will be served. Free. Harbourside Friendship, Thursday, Nov. 16 welcomes Jen Edwards RN to speak on diabetes. Meeting starts at 10:30 a.m. with lunch served at noon, $10.

Come to the Wildlife Homes Workshop, Nov. 18, noon to 4 p.m. at the Iris Griffiths Centre. Have great fun building a bat, swallow, owl, duck or bee box. Expert assistance will be available to help you build the kit of your choice. You can also bring your own mason bee boxes to clean their cocoons and prepare them for next year. The fourth annual Christmas Art Show is Sunday, Nov. 19, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Sarah Wray Hall, 4334 Irvines Landing Road, Garden Bay, sponsored by Pender Harbour Living Heritage Society. You are invited for a showing of the fabulous new artwork by Shelley Stunell’s students. Enjoy refreshments and carol singalongs with HUGS ukulele group when they play at 2:30 p.m.

The Pender Harbour Community Club will be hosting their annual Christmas Craft and Bake Sale, Saturday, Dec. 2. Book your table now by calling Muriel at 604-883-2609 or Marlene at 604-883-9900.

The Vintage Christmas Market is also at Sarah Wray Hall, Dec. 2, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shop for traditions and treasures where everything old is new again. Enjoy music, crafts and treats.
