The Rotary Auction is this Saturday, Nov. 4 starting at 5 p.m. at the Legion. Tickets are $25 and include appetizers from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. and a welcoming glass of bubbly. There will also be a cash bar. The well known Ken Johnson will be performing for your musical pleasure as you place your bids during the silent auction until 7:30 p.m. There will be a fantastic variety of items and services that could be yours. The exciting live auction begins at 8 p.m. Admission is free after 7 p.m. The Rotary Club is a non-profit community organization. 

Seniors Initiative for the month of November will offer you all the weekly activities: walking, Tuesdays 10:30 to 11 a.m., carpet bowling, Wednesdays 1 to 3 p.m., chair yoga Fridays 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Harbourside Friendship this Thursday starting at 10:30 a.m. welcomes Joanne Mauro’s Acapella. 

Nov. 13, 1 to 3 p.m. at the School of Music, the Pender Harbour Garden Club welcomes guest speaker Gwen Odermatt operator for 20 years of Petals and Butterflies, a farm nursery specializing in growing plants that attract butterflies and benefit wildlife gardens. Odermatt also teaches the Advanced Master Gardener Right Plant/Right Place course, is a member of the Hardy Plant Group and on the committee for Great Plant Picks. Her topic for the meeting will be The Ongoing Building of a Garden. Drop in $5 includes complimentary coffee, tea and sweets. 

Come to the Wildlife Homes workshop, Nov. 18 noon to 4 p.m. at the Iris Griffith Centre. Build a bat, swallow, owl, duck or bee box! Great fun! Expert assistance will be available to help build the kit of your choice. You can also bring your own mason bee boxes to clean their cocoons and prepare them for next year. Please register at EarthFair Store 604-883-9006 in Madeira Park. The Iris Griffith Centre is located at 15200 Sunshine Coast Highway. 

The Community Club will be hosting their annual Christmas craft and bake sale on Saturday, Dec. 2. You can book your table now by calling Muriel at 604-883-2609 or Marlene at 604-883-9900.
