This Saturday, Sept. 30 is the ham, turkey meat draw and pie auction at the Legion. There will be a special draw for five donated turkeys and a draw for prime rib and early bird draws too. Purchase your Ladies Night Oct. 14 tickets for $60 while you are there. 

Have you visited the pop up PODS store? You have a little more time to drop in and make a donation towards this exciting project. They are less than $40,000 away from purchasing the land! Located next to EarthFair with convenient parking right in front. 

Monday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. the Pender Harbour Garden Club is thrilled to have Conway Lum speaking at their meeting at the School of Music. Conway conducts the in-house seminars and workshops at Gardenworks, Mandeville location, and is the recipient of the 2012 Garden Communicator of the Year award. He is an expert on many gardening topics and will speak on Gardening Through Fall and Winter. Coffee, tea and goodies will follow the talk. Conway will take those interested in a walkabout through Madeira Park Gardens providing ideas of what a garden needs at this time of year. He will also bring plants to sell. Bring your questions and note-taking devices. Drop in fee is $5 or annual membership of $15. 

The EarthFair Store in Madeira Park is hosting a book signing and meet and greet with bestselling author and wilderness dweller Chris Czajowski, author of Harry: A Wilderness Dog Saga, on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 10 to 11 a.m. Harry, Chris’s pack dog, will also be in attendance. Seniors Initiative activities kick off the week Tuesday 10:30 to 11 a.m. for walking exercise, an easy-paced special exercise program. Wednesday come carpet bowling 1 to 3 p.m. On Thursday is Harbourside Friendship starting at 10:30 a.m. Enjoy music and stories by George. Chair yoga is Friday 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. All activities are at the Pender Harbour Community Hall. 

The 16th annual Pender Harbour Rotary Auction is Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Legion. Tickets are on sale now for $25 (includes appies) at the Legion and Harbour Insurance or from any Rotarian.
