Bark for the Park! Come out this Saturday, June 17 for a fun 3.5 km walk with your four-legged friends at Pender Harbour Lions Park. Goodie bags and a bandana come with the $15 registration that starts at 11 a.m. For information, call Leanne at 604-989-0399 or pick up the postcard at EarthFair Store or Madeira Veterinary Hospital. All proceeds go to the PH Lions Club for the hall and park improvements. There will be a BBQ following the walk by donation.

Harbourside Friendship is Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the PH Community Hall. Vanessa Knox from Independent Life Styles will speak on Home Care Explained, What to Expect. Lunch served at noon.

Plan to join in the family fun that is Pender Harbour Days July 7, 8 and 9 at Millennium Park in celebration of the harbour’s maritime heritage. There will be vintage boats on land and on the water, hard hat divers televising the ocean floor, wooden boat building, face painting, a petting zoo, a vendors’ village and a community picnic with heritage games. Sign up for the oyster shucking and log sawing contests and kids fishing derby. Don’t miss the homecoming of Allen Farrell’s famous sailing dory Buttercup, escorted by the Garden Bay Sailing Club. July 8 and 9 at Pender Harbour Days, your organization has a great opportunity to show all you do for our community as part of the Community Organizations Showcase. Register by June 25 at www.penderharbouradvisorycouncil.com. You can participate on one or both days. Set up by 9:45 a.m., take down 2 p.m.
