Pender Harbour & Egmont

This Friday,  the Pender Harbour Music Society Coffee House  welcomes to the stage Joan and Ted with their original West Coast sound on vocals and guitar; David Taylor, singer songwriter, recording artist with guitar and piano; Baili Clarke, beautiful originals and covers with guitar. Coffee and goodies will be sold, $10 suggested donation at the door. Doors open at 7 p.m. Music at 7:30 p.m. at the School of Music.

FLAIR in Pender will not be happening Saturday due to the Easter celebration.

Here is the perfect sweet for your Easter basket. Four hands, one keyboard- played with exquisite musicality and style by Elizabeth and Marcel Bergmann. Partners in music and in life, the Bergmanns have been a duo for more than 20 years. There is a strong audience following for their artistry that “combines virtuosic dedication with the instincts of professional entertainers who love their music” (Showtime magazine).  The concert is on Sunday, April 16, at Pender Harbour School of Music at 2 p.m. Tickets are at www.penderharbourmusic.ca, Harbour Insurance and Sechelt Visitor Centre.

Pender Harbour Wildlife invites you to join Rand Rudland on a 17-day natural history and cultural exploration of the remote kingdom of Myanmar, Tuesday, April 18, 7 p.m. at Pender Harbour Secondary School. The event is free and open to everyone. See updates at penderharbourwildlife.com

Seniors Initiative activities this week start with easy-pace walking exercises Tuesday  at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday come carpet bowling 1 to 3 p.m., Thursday bring Lady Luck with you to Harbourside Friendship and join a Rummoli game starting at 10:30 a.m. Friday is chair yoga 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. All activities are at the Hall.

Volunteer Week is April 23 to 29. Pender Harbour Community School will celebrate our amazing community of volunteers and wants you in the picture! Send your favourite group or action shot showing volunteers at work or photos from your community event. Send two photos to [email protected] or drop them off at PHCS.

Thursday night bingo needs more attendance to keep operating. Get together with friends and neighbours for a night of fun and support the Pender Harbour Community Hall. The Community Club, in support of the Hall, is holding an arts, crafts and plant sale Saturday, April 29. Gardeners, if you are thinning your plants, please save divisions for the sale. Jane Mortifee and Kathryn Nicholson have agreed to perform a concert for Better at Home April 29 at the Raven’s Cry Theatre. Vancouver icon and “angelic voice” Jane Mortifee will be accompanied by a brilliant 22-person choir, Sound Eclectic, directed by Kathryn Nicholson. They will be joined by the fabulous instrumental duo Ken Cormier on piano and Rene Worst on bass. All proceeds will be donated to the Better at Home program on the Coast.
