Super Bowl Sunday party is on at the Legion. Watch the game on the 10-foot screen, enjoy hot dogs, chili and lots of fun and games. Next event at the Legion is Quiz Night on Friday, Feb. 10, a fundraiser for Pender grads.

Reserve now for Chicago Club Night, Feb. 11 at Sarah Wray Hall. This great evening, a fundraiser for Pender Harbour Chamber of Commerce, includes a three-course dinner by Oui Cook, entertainment by Ken and Baby G with special guests, a 50/50 draw, silent auction, games and prizes. Seniors Initiative activities this week: Monday, Feb. 6, 9:30 a.m. at Mad Park Bistro join the Origami Challenge folding paper cranes and stay for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Cost is what you order from the menu. Tuesday join the walking exercise class, 10:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday carpet bowling is 1 to 3 p.m. Harbourside Friendship Group meets Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and will welcome musical favourites Skinny Jimmy and Andrew. Lunch will be served at noon. Chair yoga is Friday 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Activities Tuesday through Friday are at the Hall.

The Pender Harbour Community School invites you to their Open House on Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Come find out what’s happening at the school; enjoy snacks and connect with the people who provide ongoing programs in our community.

A note of reassurance for Happy Cat Haven supporters from Shendra Hanney: Violet confirms she is not retiring or shutting down but that she has had to cut back a little as she suffers from polymyalgia, a very tiring condition. Dated IGA receipts continue to be gratefully accepted.

On Feb. 25, Joe Stanton and Simon Paradis will perform with the High Bar Gang at Raven’s Cry Theatre. Tickets for $25 are on sale now at EarthFair Store, 604-883-9006.

Also on Feb. 25, come to Pender Harbour’s BCSPCA National Cupcake Day Tea Party 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All you talented cooks, bakers and candy makers are encouraged to help fill the bake tables. Aurelia, the steeped tea lady, will be serving up warm delicious teas for perfect pairing with sweets.
