This Friday, Oct. 30, at the Legion, enjoy a delicious roasted crown of pork dinner prepared by the talented Linda Evans. Friday’s mainstay fish and chips will be available, too.

Pick up your tickets at the Legion for the Rotary Art Auction on Saturday Nov. 7 (or from any Rotarian).

Egmont will host its Halloween Party on Oct. 31 at the Community Hall starting at 7 p.m. Dress up in your very best costume. There will be fun and games, prizes and treats for the whole family and a huge fireworks display, rain or shine. Then dance the night away to great tunes from the DJ. Free admission. The annual Halloween tradition in the Harbour, the fireworks show, will take place at 7 p.m. at the Millennium Park, weather permitting, hosted by the great members of Pender Harbour Fire Department.

Hope you have your tickets and costumes fine tuned for the Pender Harbour Blues Society 7th Annual Halloween Howl Dance & Costume Extravaganza. They are vaporizing! You can purchase online at www.penderharbourbluesfestival.com or in person at Java Docks, or Strait Music in Sechelt.

A little further north at Ruby Lake Resort there is a Halloween Bash and End of the Season Finale with a whole boar roast BBQ, bonfire, fireworks and a DJ dance party. Call 604-883-2269 to book.

Here is the great variety of events from Seniors Initiative this week. Tuesday, Nov. 3: Nourishing Your Body and Mind session is 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Health Centre, $10. Wednesday hit the lanes at the Hall for Carpet Bowling 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday’s feature at Harbourside Friendship’s get-together at 10:30 a.m. is Music with Evan and Friends. Friday, Nov. 6 is Yoga Day; 55-plus starts at 9 a.m., chair yoga at 10:30 a.m.

Pender Harbour Food Bank sends heartfelt thanks to the wonderful Pender Pool folks, Marina Phar-macy, Oak Tree and IGA for the extraordinary boxes of food and donations.

The Pender Harbour Community School has lots to offer. Harbour Ukulele Group Strummers (HUGS) meet Tuesdays from 3 to 4 p.m.  at the Community School. All ages and levels welcome to join this fun, almost famous group.

Emergency First Aid is Saturday, Nov. 21, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pool. Registration required.

A special community meeting is set for Tuesday, Nov. 24, 4:30 p.m. at the Community School to discuss food needs and solutions for our community.

Bingo is every Thursday night at the PH Hall. More players are welcomed – and you could go home with money in your pocket.
