Saturday, June 6 doors open at 10 a.m. for the Legion’s annual Gigantic Garage Sale. Meat draw starts at 3 p.m. Join us for Wednesday Wing Nights starting at 4 p.m. Take out is now available. Call 604-883-2235 and Chef Doug will be happy to take your orders. Enormous thanks to everyone who volunteered materials, time, talent and manpower creating and raising our magnificent new landmark sign!

The Pender Harbour Seniors Housing Society’s AGM will take place on June 8, at 4 p.m. at the Lily Lake Activity Centre. Memberships will be sold or renewed at that time.

Aaron Joe and Michelle Young will host the Pender Harbour Garden Club at Salish Soils on June 8, where they collect and compost waste resources into high quality organics. The group will tour the state-of-the-art processing facility and mine reclamation site in Sechelt and visit the demonstration garden. Carpoolers leave Crossroads mailboxes at 12:35 p.m. and Madeira Park Legion at 12:55 p.m. and will meet at Salish Soils, 5800 Black Bear Rd. in Sechelt, about 1:30 p.m.

Drop-in sports are happening at PHSS gym Mondays 7 to 9 p.m. — basketball, volleyball, badminton and more! Drop-in soccer is 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings.

The P.H. Community School offers kids’ baseball, Tuesdays 2:45 to 4 p.m. and kids’ basketball, Mondays 2:45 to 4 p.m. at Madeira Park Elementary School. Cost is $40.

The Ukulele Group meets Tuesdays 3 to 4 p.m. in the Harbour Learning Centre for all ages — it’s free and fun!

Pender Harbour Music Society’s annual general meeting is on Wednesday, June 10 at 3 p.m. at the P.H. School of Music.

Sunshine Coast Health-care Auxiliary is having its annual potluck luncheon at 11 a.m. on June 10, at Lily Lake Centre. New members are encouraged to join in the fun with this hard-working group. It’s a great way to meet new people. You could volunteer at the Thrift Store in Sechelt, the Gift Store or Loan Cupboard at the hospital, birthday parties at Totem or Shorncliffe or help out with raffles or bake sales in Pender. Please come and join the Harbourside Friendship this Thursday, June 11 at 10:30 a.m. Alex Christian, local Rotary exchange student, will give a presentation about the year she spent in Denmark. A $10 lunch will follow at the P.H. Community Hall. For more information, call Cathy at 604-885-1365.

The June 11 Ramble will begin on Menacher Road (just north of GRIPS). Meet about 1 km up Menacher at 9 a.m. Call the Aquatic Centre if you need more details: 604-885-6866.

Summer day camp for ages five to 12 years runs July 6 to 17, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a partnership program between the P.H. Aquatic and Fitness Centre and P.H. Community School. Weekly, daily and family rates are available. Registration is open now.
