The Pender Harbour Wildlife Society will hold its first meeting of 2015 on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 7:00pm at the Pender Harbour Secondary School.

Lee-Ann Ennis is the guest speaker. Ennis has been delivering Nature School programs for the Lagoon Society for almost 10 years. She will deliver a slide show and review of the programs and share her lifelong dream of building a marine station in Pender Harbour.  Everyone is welcome. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.

A reminder that the Bargain Barn is open once again. Come by with your donations or just to browse and find that unexpected treasure!

Wednesdays drop in for pickleball at the high school from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Harbourside Friendship meets every Thursday at the Community Hall.

On Jan. 22 come join in Trivial Pursuit and interactive mind games with lunch to follow.

Drop in for soccer at the high school from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday evenings.

A reminder that the youth group meets at the Community Hall the last two Friday's of the month, Jan. 23 and 30. Posters will be up at both schools for events from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m.

The Royal Canadian Legion is proud to present once again Robbie Burn’s Night on Saturday, Jan. 24 — a great evening of Scottish traditions and celebration. Enjoy the wonderful music of the Coast String Fiddlers and the Legion Pipe Band. The haggis will be accompanied by a delicious roast beef dinner. Tickets are going fast, so et yours now, just $30 at the Legion and Harbour Insurance.

On Tuesday, Jan. 27 the Pender Harbour Women's Connection aims to to provide an atmosphere of friendship, fun and sharing of mutual interests. Get your year off to a great start by re-connecting with friends at their pot luck finger foods lunch.

Patti Soos from the Community School will provide an update on their current courses and community projects.

Support the Women’s Connection by becoming a member. Your $10 fee is easily recouped on a fee reduction on Women's Connection events, and supports the work of our organization.

The meeting starts at 10 a.m. at the School of Music in Madeira Park. All women in the community are welcome.
