Pender Harbour & Egmont

The Pender Harbour Choir, directed by Joy McLeod will perform two concerts: tonight, Friday, Dec. 5 at St. Hilda’s Church at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 7 at the School of Music in Madeira Park at 2 p.m.

The choir of 30 vocalists, ensembles, and soloists will present a beautiful seasonal program of songs by Canadian composers. Tickets are available at Earthfair, Madeira Park and Sechelt Visitor Centres, Laedeli in Gibsons and at the door.

Serendipity Christmas Extravaganza will take place this Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Community Hall, and yes, Santa will be there for photos along with more than 24 top-drawer vendors, gourmet lunch prepared by chef Jennifer, a silent auction, raffles and non-stop Christmas music.

Harbour Gallery (across from the Music School) presents its annual Christmas sale, Dec. 6, 13, and 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The membership has put together a 12-piece mosaic canvas, which will be auctioned off with proceeds going to the Ada Priest Memorial bursaries. Pender Harbour Seniors Initiative is hosting a shop and lunch in Sechelt on Dec. 8. Leave Madeira Park at 10:30 a.m. and return by 3 p.m. Cost for the bus and lunch is $10.

Harbourside Friendship meets every Thursday at the Community Hall.

The Dec. 11 gathering will feature a movie screening (TBA) on the fantastic new screen at the hall. Join them for coffee starting at 10:30 a.m. A hot lunch will be served at noon for $10. For more information call Cathy at 604-883-9760.

Castles in the Snow, an original Christmas production celebrating the beauty of winter and the Christmas story will be presented to benefit the Pender Harbour Living Heritage Society on Thursday, Dec. 11 and Friday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the School of Music.   Tickets are $25, available at Earthfair, Harbour Insurance and from the cast.

The St. Mary’s Hospital/Healthcare Auxiliary is doing their annual “In Lieu of Christmas Cards” fundraiser for the hospital. Deadline for this is Dec. 13.
