Remembrance and Reunion for Barrie Farrell takes place tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 5 at The Hall. Doors open at noon. The celebration of this lovely man and fantastic boat builder will begin at 1 p.m.

Remembrance and Reunion for Barrie Farrell takes place tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 5 at The Hall. Doors open at noon. The celebration of this lovely man and fantastic boat builder will begin at 1 p.m. To honour Barry, a boat parade through the harbour of his boats will follow.  

Pender Harbour Women’s Connection welcomes Erin Hirst of Ground Waves West, Tuesday, Nov. 8. With Christmas just around the corner, Erin will have great gift giving and decorating ideas to launch your festive season. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. at the School of Music. Presentation at 10 a.m. Drop-in $4. Yearly membership $15. 

Harbourside Friendships, Thursday, Nov. 10 welcomes the fantastic Matt Richards performing covers and his original songs. The gathering is 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Hall. Lunch is served at noon for $10 per person. 

Seniors Initiative activities for November are Carpet Bowling, Wednesdays 1 to 3 p.m., and Chair Yoga, Mondays, and Fridays 11 a.m. to noon with Carole Logtenberg. Drop in $3. Activities at The Hall. 

The Pender Harbour Community School’s new hours are Tuesday to Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Welcome Cheyenne Howitt, the new director. Do you have skills to share with our community? Call out for art instructors and facilitators for other programs. Call 604-883-2826 or email phcs@dccnet.com. 

Remembrance Day procession marches off at 10:30 a.m. Service at 11 a.m. followed by refreshments in the Legion. Everyone welcome. Buy your poppy and wear it proudly. Donations to the Poppy Campaign benefit our community. In 2022, two bursaries were awarded to PHSS graduates. 

Friday, Nov. 11, Remembrance Day, The Bargain Barn will not be accepting donations at The Hall. Donations will resume Friday, Nov. 18,  12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. 

FLAIR on the Coast will hold their next meeting Saturday, Nov. 12, 10 a.m. to noon at the Rockwood Centre in Sechelt. Fiona Mitchell from BC Cancer, Radiation Therapy Provincial Practice and Academic leader, will be their speaker. They welcome those receiving cancer treatment, have been through it or a caregiver in the Pender Harbour/Egmont area to join them. The Pender Harbour Music Society presents Dawn Pemberton Sunday, Nov. 13, 2 p.m. at the School of Music. Her powerful beautifully articulated voice and engaging stage presence take the audience on a musical journey through, gospel, soul, jazz, and funk. Tickets $30 at Harbour Insurance, Strait Music and online at the Pender Harbour Music Society website. 

Thank you, and congratulations Larry Curtiss for 50 years of uninterrupted service as a Pender Harbour Volunteer firefighter. Wow, what a milestone! Truly a kind, generous and amazing accomplishment by a wonderful man that is greatly appreciated by our community. You are our hero!
