Start celebrating Father’s Day a little bit early this Saturday afternoon at The Backeddy. At 4 p.m., Joe Stanton will be there to entertain with his original songs and world-class guitar playing while you enjoy delicious food, drinks, the nautical action at the Marina and the endless spectacular views.

Just down the road Bathgate General Store, Motel and Marina hosts its customer appreciation day this Monday, June 20. You will want to shop as groceries will be 10 per cent off, you get a free coffee with your grocery purchase and a ticket for the draw. The prize is a fantastic basket of yummy goodies.

The Thrift Store at the Egmont Community Hall was full fit to burst with donations this past week. Liz rallied the volunteers and now is prime time to shop for treasure!

Egmont, like most of the Coast, has daily bear sightings, some up close and personal. Thanks to all who have been bear smart, safety first for all involved. Egmont, and sadly all over the Coast, the massive logging going  on has destroyed wildlife habitat. Bears like many other displaced species are on the move and searching for new homes. Now is also mating time and when year-old young bears are cast out by their moms, on their own for the first time. Sunshine Coast Bear Alliance Facebook site has excellent information. Contact SCBA with concerns or questions.

Harbourside Friendships, Thursday, June 23, welcomes George Connell, the famous, multi-talented, multimedia artist, man of the world who wears his kilt very well, and just like his Frank’s Ret Hot Sauce TV commercials, he is on everything: entertainment, creating and doing endless good in our communities. Come to the Hall for an exceptionally good time with George starting at 10:30 a.m.
