Hi everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful week and were safe during the windstorms, atmospheric rivers and some snow! Oh my! Sunny weather and cold temperatures are in the forecast so bundle up. Welcome to winter on the Sunshine Coast.

We currently remain in Stage 4 Water Restrictions until further notice. It rained at lower levels while higher elevations received snow and freezing temperatures. The water level at Chapman Lake is not even close to where it should be, so we continue to conserve water as much as possible.

Friday, November 11, a day of remembrance.

‘They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them.’

(For the Fallen by Lawrence Binyon)

The Halfmoon Bay Branch of the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary is holding their monthly meeting at Coopers Green Hall on Monday, Nov. 14. Doors will open at 9:45 a.m., members and guests are welcome. This amazing group will also be holding a bake and plant sale on Saturday, Nov. 19 in the Trail Bay Mall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Be sure to stop by, say hello and pick up some awesome goodies!

The Halfmoon Bay Community Association’s (HBCA) Town Hall and AGM on Friday, Nov. 5 was well attended, and discussions were informative. Linda McMahon, president shared, “We had close to 80 participates via Zoom and the meeting was also streaming live on Facebook. While I think the presentations went well, there are many unanswered questions and topics that need to be pursued.” HBCA is currently working on a follow up document, which will be shared with their members and available on their website. “With regard to the Coopers Green Hall Replacement Project, we are still gathering input and will present our findings to the SCRD in the next couple of weeks.” If you missed the meeting and would like to watch the video, here is the link: facebook.com/HalfmoonBayCommunity/videos/535244778434744/.
