A couple of Red Cross courses are coming up in the spring: Babysitters Course for ages 11 to 15, April 16 (ProD Day) 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the School of Music; and Stay Safe! Course (Home Alone), for ages 9 to 13, May 14 (ProD Day) 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., location TBA, for kids who are sometimes at home alone. Call the Pender Harbour Community School to register: 604-883-2826.

The homework club at Halfmoon Bay School is expanding to include Kindergarten to Grade 3 students along with the grades 4 to 7.

Volunteers are needed for the K-3 children for a read-to-me literacy hour. They need an adult to read a story to the little ones and help with an activity after. Contact Wendy at [email protected]

There will be a concert at Coopers Green Hall on March 3 with Rakish Angles, who have earned nominations for a Canadian Folk Music Award in 2009, Indie Acoustic Project Awards in 2009 and 2011, and Western Canadian Music Awards in 2010 and 2012. Watch for more details soon.
