December has arrived so get prepared for the fourth annual Breakfast with Santa, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Dec. 16 at HMB Elementary School, a community event where everyone is welcome.

Tickets are $6 adults, $4 children, $20 family and include a photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Tickets are at HMB Café, Welcome Woods Market, HMB General Store and in Sechelt at Pastimes Toy Store. The event is a tremendous family experience, a festive and delicious way to make this worthwhile event part of your Christmas memories, and it forms a treasured part of the history of Halfmoon Bay. We hope you will attend.

The next Halfmoon Bay Healthcare Auxiliary meeting is Dec. 11 at the Blue Ocean Golf Course at 10 a.m. with lunch to follow the meeting. Members should contact Shelley Grainger for tickets.

Dec. 6 will be the last pickleball night before Christmas; note the change of time. Pickleball will start at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Halfmoon Bay Community School gym, Northwood Road. Both players and spectators are invited. All skill levels are welcome. All equipment is provided. Drop-in is $3. No experience necessary.

The Sunshine Coast Herring Enhancement project is looking to expand the scope of their program into Halfmoon Bay and Secret Cove. A team is needed to assemble and install, from January to March, artificial habitat at the best suited docks. If you are interested, contact Sam Bowman at 778-899-4518.

To have your say at the bay, contact me before 5 p.m. Monday at [email protected] or 604-885-5034.
