Halfmoon Happenings

Halfmoon Bay

Halfmoon Bay Community Association presents Mark Crissinger’s CD release tour, at Coopers Green Hall, April 7. Doors open at 7 p.m.; show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are now on sale at Welcome Woods Market and Halfmoon Bay General Store. See Art Beat for more details.

The great people of the Halfmoon Bay branch of Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary will be having their Famous Bake Sale at Trail Bay Mall on April 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Their regular monthly meeting is Monday, April 10 at Coopers Green Hall at 9:45 a.m. Visitors and new members are always welcome.

Kudos as well to the Auxiliary: they have purchased four defibrillators for St. John’s, St. Hilda’s and Holy Family churches and for the Sunshine Coast Botanical Gardens, with monies from their Memorial Funds. They continually work towards improving and helping our community’s healthcare.

New players are welcome to play pickleball, Wednesday evenings at the Halfmoon Bay Elementary School gym. For more information, email Don Cunliffe at [email protected] or Tim Dayton at [email protected].

The Halfmoon Bay Country Fair will be held on July 8 and 9 this summer; the theme will be Super Heroes. Spiderman volunteers who would like to help with the fun should contact Toni Morris at [email protected]

Fundraising for the new community hall at Coopers Green has begun. All pledges are welcome, and donations over $100 will receive a tax receipt. Halfmoon Bay Community Association has details about the project on their new website at www.hmbcommunity.org. If there are any Halfmoon Bay residents who would like to get involved, contact Don Cunliffe at [email protected].

To have your say at the bay, contact me before 5 p.m. Monday at [email protected] or 604-885-5034.
