Halfmoon Happenings

Halfmoon Bay

Summer will be upon us before we know it, and the Halfmoon Bay Country Fair is really the kick off.

Halfmoon Bay Community Association (HBCA) is recruiting for the Fair Committee to help with organizing, scheduling and working the Fair this year. There is a great deal of planning and prep work to be done.

Please join HBCA for their first meeting on Tuesday, March 7 at 7 p.m. at Coopers Green Hall. It will be the perfect meeting to get your feet wet and offer your ideas.

The Fair does not take place without people like you. Email Toni Morris at [email protected] or call 604-989-3767.

The Halfmoon Bay Branch of the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary will be meeting Monday, March 13 at Coopers Green Hall at 9:45 a.m. Visitors and new members are always welcome.

Good news for Halfmoon Bay: Wendy Pearson of Halfmoon Bay Information and Referral Centre has joined the board of Halfmoon Bay Community Association. The board looks forward to working with Pearson, who also does so much at the Community School.

March 7 to 9, there is a book sale at the Community School, during lunchtime and after school. Used books can be dropped off at the school up to March 3.

Drop in and play pickleball, the fastest growing sport in North America, Wednesday evenings at the Halfmoon Bay Community School gym, Northwood Road. Plan to arrive by 7 p.m. for registration. Equipment (racquets and balls) is provided. Cost is $3 per session. There are three courts, one dedicated to beginners with instruction provided, the other two follow the level play format set out by the Sunshine Coast Pickleball Association.

To have your say at the bay, contact me before 5 p.m. Monday at [email protected] or 604-885-5034.
