Halfmoon Happenings

Halfmoon Bay

The Halfmoon Bay Branch of Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary will meet Saturday, Feb. 11 at Coopers Green Hall at 9:45 a.m. Visitors and new members are always welcome. Note this is a Saturday, as there was a conflict on the Monday date.

The weather forced Halfmoon Bay Community Association (HBCA) to cancel the Tube Radio live music and dance event. They have rescheduled for Feb. 17. If you have tickets, they will be honoured (the event is now sold out). If you have tickets but cannot make the Feb. 17 event, HBCA will exchange them for either of the Coopers Green concerts April 7 or June 2. Email Joe Stanton at [email protected] for more information.

Wendy Germann-Pearson of Halfmoon Bay Information and Referral Centre is reaching out to the community. There are many families in need of childcare in Halfmoon Bay, especially kids under two years. Please message Pearson if you have any leads she can pass along to others in our community: [email protected]

Drop in and play pickleball, the fastest growing sport in North America. Pickleball is Wednesday evenings at the Halfmoon Bay Community School gym, Northwood Road. Plan to arrive by 7 p.m. for registration. Racquets and balls are provided. Cost is $3 per session.  There are three courts, one dedicated to beginners with instruction provided, the other two follow the level play format set out by S.C. Pickleball Association. Email [email protected] or [email protected].

To have your say at the bay, contact me before 5 p.m. Monday at [email protected] or 604-885-5034.
