Halfmoon Bay

There will be Teen Night at Halfmoon Bay School on Friday, Nov. 27, 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the school. Grades 5 to 7 students, come for a night of supervised fun for a $5 drop-in, no registration required. There will be a concession provided by the HMB Student Council.

The Halfmoon Bay Childcare Centre, Halfmoon Bay Info and Referral Centre with help from the Halfmoon Bay Community Association are having the second annual Halfmoon Bay Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 5, 9 a.m. to noon in the Halfmoon Bay School gym. There will be pancakes and sausages, carollers and, of course, Santa. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for kids and $20 for families, which includes your photo with Santa. Our Reading Centre will be open Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the school library. Please come out and familiarize yourself with the library and what we hope will be a valuable service in our community. We will also have a used book sale to fundraise for the centre. If you have any used books you would like to donate please let us know. Drop in and play pickleball on Wednesday evenings at the Halfmoon Bay Community School gym, Northwood Road. Plan to arrive by 7 p.m. for registration. Racquets and balls are provided. There are several community interest groups, societies and associations that operate in Halfmoon Bay (HMB). Each of these groups offers a variety of activities for the residents of HMB and the Coast. They are: HMB Community Association formerly (WBCA), HMB Childcare, HMB Citizens Association, RCMSAR12 (Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue), HMB Fire Department,  HMB Hospital Auxiliary, HMB Crazies (quilters), Sargeants Bay Society, HMB COP (Citizens on Patrol), Sunshine Coast Athletics, Welcome Wagon, HMB PAC (Parent Advisory Committee), HMB Greenways.
