Now in its fourth year, the Backroad Trash Bash brings together community organizations and residents to clean up illegal dump sites in the SCRD. In previous years, our community cleaned up sites in the Chapman Watershed, from Port Mellon to Roberts Creek and in Pender Har-bour and Egmont.
This year, they will target illegal dumpsites in Halfmoon Bay and Sechelt. We hope to see you on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. (when registration starts) to 3 p.m. Meet at: Coopers Green Park, 5500 Fisherman Rd. Want to volunteer? Community organizations and residents can pre-register at [email protected] or 604-885-6806. Great draw prizes and BBQ lunch are provided between 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Learn more at www.scrd.ca/Stop-Illegal-Dumping.
