Gary Nohr, SCRD chair and director for Area B, Halfmoon Bay, is going to make himself available 10 a.m. to noon Fridays at the Halfmoon Bay Café and Tuesdays at Welcome Woods Market.

If you have children or grandchildren visiting on July 4, you should mark your calendar – there is a low tide beach exploration and 25th anniversary of Sargeant Bay Provincial Park from noon to 4 p.m.

The Sargeant Bay Society invites the community to come celebrate and explore Sargeant Bay Provincial Park. There will be a beach seine, marine display tanks and natural history information.

Sunshine Coast Health-care Auxiliary, Halfmoon Bay branch, announced that the garden tour was very successful, raising approximately $4,000.

The door prize winners were as follows: Adelaide, garden owl; Martin, $25 gift certificate to Jardin des Flores; Sue, $25 gift certificate Trade Winds; Eleanor, $50 certificate Halfmoon Bay Nursery; Marsha, $50 soil Salish Soils; Ron, $50 soil Salish Soils; Joanne, $25 Deluxe Landscaping; Pat, three table items Ann-Lynn Flowers & Gifts; Barb, $50 vase Blue Magnolia; Sue, begonia basket from Coastal Sun.

Advance tickets are now on sale for the HMB Country Fair salmon BBQ. Dance to the live music of Larrie Cook and the Bluesmasters, Saturday, July 11. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 each, available at Halfmoon Bay General Store and Welcome Woods Market.
