Halfmoon Bay

 

A reminder to the members of the St. Mary’s Hospital/ Healthcare Auxiliary Halfmoon Bay Branch that the October meeting is on Monday, Oct. 20 at 9:45 a.m. at Coopers Green Hall.

There is pickleball at the Halfmoon Bay Community School gym, Northwood Road on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. All skill levels are welcome. Email [email protected] for more information.

Applefest/Oktoberfest weekend is Oct. 18 and 19. The festival includes live music with Back Porch Reunion at Coopers Green Hall for the Boogie, Brats and Beer dance on Saturday, Oct. 18. Tickets are $15 each and include dinner, live band and a beer, on sale now at Halfmoon Bay General Store and Welcome Woods Market.

Apples and maple (hardwood) firewood are still needed. Drop off at Dolphin Physio, 5711 Mermaid Street in Sechelt or phone 604-885-2969.

Volunteers needed for both Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 18 and 19 for starting the fire, putting up tarps, stirring the kettle, canning (the flying apple saucers), children’s activity table and selling apple butter. If you are able to help, call Katie at 604-885-2969.

The Community Con-nections for Seniors project is underway. A meeting is scheduled in Halfmoon Bay on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at Coopers Green Hall, for a free “lunch and learn” where you can meet older adults in your neighbourhood. Doors will open at 10 a.m. for tea, conversation, questions and answers, and noon to 1 p.m. for lunch and networking.
