Hi everyone! Hope you all had an awesome week! Looks like the warm weather switch will be turned on this weekend, so hopefully you can get out to enjoy it.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had an awesome week! Looks like the warm weather switch will be turned on this weekend, so hopefully you can get out to enjoy it. Projected temperatures are over 20 C!

The Halfmoon Bay Community Association was formed many years ago and their logo was reflective of the forest industry at that time. President Terry Knight says, “It’s time to upgrade our current logo and with all the creative people on the Coast, we thought it would be fun to have a competition and reward the winner with a $500 cash prize.” For all the details, please visit their website at hmb
community.org or Facebook page or contact Terry directly at [email protected]. Electronic submissions must be received by May 31; winner to be announced at a later date.

The Halfmoon Bay branch of the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary may not be having regular meetings, but they continue to serve the community. The Auxiliary joined with the Sunshine Coast Quilters’ Guild to sew supplies for health care workers. A total of 153 scrub bags, 118 masks, 220 scrub hats and 38 headbands went to the Sechelt Hospital and 188 masks and 161 scrub bags were delivered to Shorncliffe/Totem/2nd Floor South. A grand total of 878 items were produced within three weeks! Thank you to Karen Biddlecombe who initiated this activity and all who joined in to see this service completed for our community. Well done!

A Birthday Parade for Teo: It’s not very often that you can join in a parade to help celebrate a child’s birthday. My husband and I along with at least 10 other vehicles, a three-wheel motorcycle and two fire trucks paraded past Teo’s house and into his driveway, honking our horns, blasting sirens, holding banners and signs and calling out Happy Birthday! He thanked us with a short video on Facebook saying, “It was my best birthday ever!” All it took was a post on Facebook and the community joined in.

Garden tip of the week:

Kym from Kym’s Plants: “Now is a great time to give your spring flowering bulbs such as daffodils and tulips a shot of fertilizer to increase next year’s blooms.”

To have your say at the Bay, please contact me before 5 p.m. on Mondays: [email protected]. Be kind, be gentle, be safe.
