Halfmoon Bay: Farewell for now, my friends

Hello everyone in Halfmoon Bay. After four years of writing the Halfmoon Bay Happenings column, I will be stepping down and handing the column to another Halfmoon Bay resident who loves our community as much as I do.

Hello everyone in Halfmoon Bay. After four years of writing the Halfmoon Bay Happenings column, I will be stepping down and handing the column to another Halfmoon Bay resident who loves our community as much as I do.

After recommending Cindy Kisser to John Gleeson at Coast Reporter, John agrees that she will be an excellent person to continue Halfmoon Bay Happenings. He knows Cindy’s writing through her bulletins from the Halfmoon Bay Community Association (HBCA).

Cindy is the membership and communications director with HBCA. She updates and adds information on the HBCA website and Facebook page. She welcomes new members to the association, volunteers at all the events and organizes those who wish to help at these events. HBCA currently has 385 members. More members are always welcome, and membership is free! Complete the application (hmbcommunity.org/membership-application) and send it to Cindy or simply send her an email with your contact information.

I would like to thank Heather Till and John Gleeson at Coast Reporter for all their help and guidance; special thanks to Sue Lamb who wrote the column before I did and thank you to all those who paved the way before.

Thank you to Wendy White who has kept me in the loop with HMB School activities and Moira Sarling who looks after publicity for Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary – HMB Branch. Thank you to Dr. Rand Rudland of the Sargeant Bay Society, Mary Beth Knechtel of the HMB Citizens Association and the many residents of Halfmoon Bay who have shared information for the column.

During these troubling times, may you all keep safe and do not forget how proud we are of our Halfmoon Bay community. See you around!

Warm regards, Terry Knight
