This weekend there are two great music shows in the Creek. On Friday, June 23, the Gumboot will be host to The Georgia Fats playing gritty diesel soaked blues and groove kicked straight from the dark red edge of dawn. Show is at 8 p.m.; tickets are $15 at the door. On Saturday, June 24, the Creek’s quintessential dance band Butler in the Hey celebrates their new release Greetings Earthling at the Roberts Creek Legion #219. Show time is 9 p.m. Tickets are $8 members and $15 non-members at the door … plus you get a free CD!
On Saturday, June 24, join the Roberts Creek reconciliation circle and blanket exercise. The morning will take the form of the Kairos blanket exercise led by experienced local facilitators with a circle dialogue debrief to follow. The event will be witnessed by elders of this place, and then a meal will be shared. More info at kairosblanketexercise.org. Open to all Sunshine Coasters, and acknowledges the location of Roberts Creek on both shíshálh and Skwxwu7mesh territory. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Roberts Creek School Gym. It’s free but you must register by phone or text 604-740-6400.
Slow Sundays in the Creek starts this Sunday, June 25, from noon to 4 p.m., in conjunction with the Roberts Creek Library Anniversary Party. See the full story at left.
Tuesdays enjoy a music jam with A.D.D. and friends. This is a great opportunity to meet, jam with or listen to musicians of all levels and abilities. All musicians are welcome from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at Roberts Creek Legion.
Wednesdays, there is live music at the Gumboot Restaurant from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Stop by the Warm Wednesday Market 1 to 5:30 p.m. every week in the Roberts Creek Hall parking lot with local vendors and artisans, .
Also on Wednesdays is the Farm Gate Market from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge (Hwy. 101 and Roberts Creek Road), a local organic farmers’ market.
