This Saturday, April 15 at the Legion from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., come out for Buzy B and Zap the Crook.

There’s a new community craft market each Wednesday at the Roberts Creek Hall parking lot, from noon to 6 p.m. Each week will offer the opportunity to meet and purchase local crafts from a variety of vendors. For more information, contact Lorraine Aime at 604-989-2792.

Also Wednesdays at the Hall is the Farmers’ Market from 3 to 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to stop by and shop for fresh produce and other interesting items.

Wednesday, April 19, there’s live music at the Gumboot. Featured this week is Fat Fish from 6 to 8 p.m. Call 604-885-4216 for reservations.

Games Night at Roberts Creek Legion is from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Enjoy Xbox, Cards against Humanity, darts, cards, cribbage, pool, Nintendo 64 and more, or bring your own games.

An all candidates green forum on Friday, April 21 at Roberts Creek Hall 7 p.m. will be hosted by the Sunshine Coast Conservation Asso-ciation and Alliance 4 Democracy. Kim Darwin (Green party), Nicholas Simons (NDP), Mathew Wilson (Liberal), and Reuben Richards (Cascadia party) will be there. Come out to engage in dialogue, get informed on the issues and participate in democracy. The event will be moderated by past Area D director Donna Shugar. All four parties will have booths at the Earth Day Festival on the Saturday and they will be ready for follow-up conversations.

April 22 is Earth Day. There will be a special Earth Day book sale at the Roberts Creek Library on that day.

The 28th annual Earth Day celebrations will be held Saturday, April 22 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Roberts Creek Pier with a Pack It In - Pack It Out - Picnic theme. Bring your blankets and baskets, enjoy the tasty food, live music and over 40 organizations with informative displays. There will be an Earth Day ceremony led by Rev. Ray Niebergall with meditation using sound, music and heart to connect spiritually at the Hall at 10 a.m.

Then walk down to the main event to hear the opening remarks at noon. Then the festival begins with music, vendors and lots of fun. Mark this date on your calendar for next weekend.
