This Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Roberts Creek Hall put on your glitter heels and favourite corset. Come out to watch the Booty Camp Girls rock your socks off with another amazing burlesque show. This year’s special feature will be the men of the Roberts Creek Volunteer Fire Department.  Doors open at 8 p.m.; show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are at share-there.com; no tickets at the door. This is a fundraiser for the Turner family.

The SCRD is holding an open house to gather input from the public on the proposed plan for Phase Two of the Suncoaster Trail.  In 2010 construction was completed on Phase One of the Trail which stretches 37 kilometres from Earls Cove to Homesite Creek in Halfmoon Bay. The open house will take place on Monday, Feb. 27 at Roberts Creek Hall from 3 to 6 p.m.  More info at www.scrd.ca/Suncoaster-Trail

The One Straw Society presents two special events in one weekend: Dinner and a Movie, Friday, March 3 at the Roberts Creek Community Hall, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m., and Seedy Saturday, March 4 at the Hall from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Seedy Saturday is the Sunshine Coast’s annual community planting season kickoff event loaded with opportunities to connect with other garden enthusiasts and food producers on the Sunshine Coast. This year’s event will include a seed exchange, seeds and seedling sales, live plant sales (including trees and shrubs), farmers market, interactive activities for adults and kids, and workshops. Event coordinator Graham Starsage is happy to announce that this year’s 28th consecutive Roberts Creek Earth Day Festival will be held on Saturday, April 22 (the official civic holiday) at the Roberts Creek Pier Park, from noon to 5 p.m. The call is out now for volunteers, vendors, community groups, non-profit organizations and musicians who want to be part of the event. As always, there will be live music, great food, environmental and sustainability initiatives showcased and a great vibe as the community gets together to celebrate the Earth and springtime.
