Join everyone on Friday, May 8 for Friday Night Dinner and Live Music at Roberts Creek Legion. Music will by provided by Bonar Harris between 6 and 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, May 9 enjoy Joey Ramone’s Birthday Bash at 9 p.m. also at the Legion.

This Sunday, May 10 is World Lupus Day with May 8, 9 and 10 being Purple Awareness Weekend. Decorate your windows, yards and houses in purple using purple lights and purple balloons. On Tuesday, May 12 is Open Jam with A.D.D. Dinner is 6 to 8 p.m. and jamming is 7:30 to 11 p.m., all at the Roberts Creek Legion.
 
Come enjoy the Farm Gate market on Wednesday 3 to 6 p.m. and Curry in the Creek on Thursdays 3 to 6 p.m. Both events are held at the Roberts Creek Hall. Stop by for some quality produce and great curry, and meet your friends.
 
The Roberts Creek branch of the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary (formerly St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary) will meet on Tuesday May 12 at the Legion.
 
Still looking for growers and musicians for the Heart Market, which starts in June on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you wish to sell some of your garden goodness for a day or for the season or want to play music, then email [email protected] or call 604-886-3536.
 
On Friday, May 15 be sure to take in My Face is Acting Up! This event will be held at the Gumboot Café with a $10 admission fee. Opening act is Donna Shugar performing Who Says 16 is Sweet?  followed by David Roche, who is out on the edge again. For more information, call Roche at 604-740-0465.
 
Coming May 16 and 17 is the Roberts Creek Arts Festival. Most venues will begin at 9 a.m. and the action is at the Roberts Creek Hall and the Elphi Lodge Stage. There will be an artisans market, pink elephant stage, artist displays and demos. There is an outsider stage in the parking lot with daytime live music and ride-in night theatre. On the Elphi stage, there will be live painting, art raffles, live music, film, food and drink. The Hall will also offer night stage and live music. There appears to be something for everyone, so mark it on your calendar and plan to be a part of this year’s Roberts Creek Arts Festival.
 
Sechelt is looking for entries for the Canada Day parade, craft vendors and food vendors. For more information or entry forms, contact Kerry at 604-885-9611 or [email protected]. This year is the 50th anniversary of our Canadian flag, so let’s get involved!  Everyone is welcome.
We still need help to pitch in to rid the Creek of rubbish. If you have not signed up yet for this yearly clean-up, call Alison Lindsay at 604-885-5007. The clean-up goes until May 26.
 
The 6th Roberts Creek Scout group is now taking registrations for the fall program. The group offers Beavers (ages 5 to 7), Cubs (8 to 10) and Sea Scouts (11 to 14) and all sections are co-ed. If you wish information on early bird fees, please call 604-885-2282 or send an email [email protected].
