Bears are coming out at Gibsons Recycling Depot (GRD), but not to worry, these are recycled plywood cut outs that can be painted and decorated. This fun art event is a fundraising event for Gibsons Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.
Bears can be purchased at Gibsons Recycling for $20.
If artists wish to have their completed bears displayed, they can return them to GRD.
GRD will be hosting a Bear Festival on May 5. As well as a bear art show, there will be information booths about Gibsons Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, and a table where kids can adopt a teddy bear.
"Gibsons Wildlife is an incredible asset to our community," said Barb Hetherington of GRD. "Clint, Irene and all the volunteers work hard to care for injured animals. We think that painting a bear is a fun way to raise funds and show support for the work they do."
