Flash mob to perform outside library Oct. 6

Mental Illness Awareness Week

As part of Mental Illness Awareness Week in Canada from Oct. 3 to 9, flash mobs performed by Clubhouse Canada will be breaking out in over 10 cities across the country on Oct. 6 to create awareness and to fight the stigma surrounding mental illness.

In Sechelt, the flash mob will perform outside the public library at 12:30 p.m. All are invited to come and dance, hold signs or just be there to raise awareness.

Arrowhead Clubhouse in Sechelt offers hope, encouragement and opportunities to people living with mental illness. Its programs help members reclaim their lives through a supportive environment that focuses on people’s strengths and talents rather than their illnesses.

Clubhouse Canada is a network of 17 clubhouses across Canada, offering programs and services which provide opportunities for hope and recovery through friendship, employment, education, housing and recreation in a welcoming and accessible environment of support, respect and dignity.
