The Clubhouse has been the centre of live music, great food, award-winning hospitality, a warm, welcoming place to be “through thick and thin.” The kind, hardworking, gracious folks who have gone more than the distance, will take a much-deserved two-month break. Thanks to Marilyn Macleod, president of the Pender Harbour Blues Society and ace organizer for the stellar lineup of performers. One month left of good times at The Clubhouse, so book a table now for this weekend. Enjoy the fabulous, famous Jim Foster tonight Friday, Oct. 1 at the Dinner Show 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Poppa Greg and his outstanding band are back 2 to 5 p.m. Cover $5.

The Harbour has a variety of places to dine out including our local Legion, open for lunch and dinner – Wing Wednesdays and Fish and Chips Fridays. Fridays there will also be a delicious dinner special. Saturdays at 3 p.m. is meat draw time. COVID protocols in place. Thanksgiving Turkey & Ham Draw is this Saturday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m.

Harbourside Friendship – the Thursday Drop-In program at the Pender Harbor Community Hall offers you a Stay Vacation Oct. 7. Hold onto your seat – “Armchair Travel” will take you to an exciting, surprise location. Bring your own packed lunch to enjoy after the trip.

Seniors Initiative carries on with favourite activities at the Hall: Carpet Bowling, Wednesdays, 1 to 3 p.m.; Chair Yoga, Mondays and Fridays, 11 a.m. to noon. Drop in $3.

Madeira Market each Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout October will have treasures from talented vendors for you and yours. Time to start your Christmas shopping. Live music with Rick Kobus goes from 10 a.m. to noon followed by folksinger Geri and guest performers. Artisan vendors – tables are just $10 and entertainers always welcome.

FibreWorks has a call out to artists who work in any fabric medium to submit for the Coast Fibre Winter Market by Oct. 15. Details are on their website. On now until Oct. 31, A Beautiful Mess, at The Yurts.

The Pender Harbour Community Club hosts their Christmas Faire, Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Hall. Vendors can book now. Special request for a vendor with mustard pickles, please! Tables are just $25.
