The Sunshine Coast Natural History Society presents speaker Penny Hall as she presents Exploring Eastern Australian - New South Wales & Queensland on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sunshine Coast Arts Centre in Sechelt.

Hall, photographer and photojournalist, will give an illustrated presentation of some vistas, birds and wildlife of New South Wales and Queensland.

The original intent during the 24-day August 2010 trip was to visit family, but it quickly turned into an exploration trip of the outdoors and wildlife, with an attempt to see more than 200 birds. The other trip members were her daughter and partner.

The latter being a native Australian, avid birder and biologist, made for a great tour guide.Born at home in Davis Bay, Hall spent her first 40 years on the Sunshine Coast. After 17 years in the B.C. interior, she returned to the Coast in 2009.

Following her heart to get out of the office, she has reconnected with nature and the great outdoors and has become an avid Sunshine Coast birder and photographer. She has just published a book, Birds on the Sunshine Coast containing 169 bird photographs. Hall is very active in the SCNHS, as a director, editor of the society's newsletter Marsh Wrenderings and co-organizer of the society's bird walk program.

All are welcome to this presentation.
