The Fourth Annual Hike for Hospice brought out roughly 130 Coasters, plus kids and dogs, on a beautiful sunny Sunday, May 3.
Organized by Sunshine Coast Hospice Society president Ali Khan, the event brought in close to $40,000 for the Hospice Society on the Coast.
Over one quarter of the total donations were the result of volunteer Judy Dunphy’s hard work. She raised over $12,000 on her own.
The Hospice Society provides care for members of the community approaching the ends of their lives. Khan said that the Society’s goal right now is to get more hospice beds on the Coast.
