Volunteers from Gibsons churches, service groups and Elphinstone Secondary School packed and distributed more than 330 traditional Easter dinners “to go” last Sunday, setting a new record for the community event.

Traditionally held at Easter and at Christmas, the Gibsons community dinners are offered free to all.

“We can’t gather in person right now, but we can still celebrate this holiday by breaking bread together as a community with this shared meal,” said organizer Kenan MacKenzie.

The dinners are funded through donations from churches, service groups and local businesses.
