The Coastal Martial Arts Open took place in Port Alberni on June 3. This annual tournament brings together martial artists from various styles including Karate, Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do and Kenpo. Eleven competitors from Sechelt’s Sunshine Coast Martial Arts Centre participated this past weekend and brought home 11 gold, seven silver and five bronze medals in kata, weapons and sparring divisions.
