The Porpoise Bay Christmas Carol Cruise is ready set to sail on Saturday, Dec. 5.
The boats will start their procession from the government dock in Porpoise Bay at 6 p.m. and will proceed past the provincial campsite then on to Sandy Hook. They will return along the West Porpoise Bay shoreline back to the government dock.
All vessels will be displaying colourful Christmas lights and the lead vessel will be playing carols that can be heard right across the bay.
New for 2015 is a contest to win seats aboard the 62-foot motor yacht Tranquility for a full-service happy hour cruise with smoked salmon and roast beef canapes, wine and chocolate, courtesy of Sechelt Yacht Tours, Blue Ocean Golf, and Harbour Air Seaplanes.
The free family event also includes a community bonfire on the beach at Porpoise Bay Provincial Park. The Sunshine Coast Salmonid Enhancement Society will serve hot chocolate and popcorn by donation, and there will be a collection box; please bring nonperishable food items for the food bank.
