The Visitors Info Centre in Madeira Park is hiring travel ambassadors. This is a youth summer job for people 15 to 30. Work alone in a COVID-safe environment providing info and maps to visitors. Flexible hours, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Weekends in June, daily in July and August until Sept. 7. Apply at [email protected].
At Madeira Market this Saturday, May 8, you can renew or sign up as a member of the Pender Harbour Community Club. Single memberships just $5 and family $10 for the year.

TNT, laden with overstock T-shirts due to COVID restrictions, will have new men’s, ladies, and kids Ts including branded Sunshine Coast tourist shirts starting at $4 each and three for $10. Judy’s Handcrafted Gifts has fantastic wood burned signs, boxes and delightful home décor. Beads and Blooms has the best of Bling! including mini crystal gardens. The plant table will be laden with lovely strawberry, rhubarb, lilies, grasses, herbs, cannas, dahlia tubers at silly (cheap) prices. Sunshine Coast Bear Alliance and ElderDog will have important info and handouts.
Come shop, come visit and treat yourself to something yummy, perhaps a delicious burger, poutine, fish and chips and yes, it is milkshake season from Tony’s Triple BBB’s.
Mother’s Day weekend at the Clubhouse starts off with a super dinner show on Friday, May 7, from 4 to 7 p.m., starring not only fine food and outstanding service but the fantastic, famous, Sunshine Coast’s own Joe Stanton. Sunday’s show welcomes back the master of the Hammond B3 Peter Van Deursen with Al Alford and Tim Rannard, well known as the Peter Van Trio, 2 to 5 p.m. Reserve a table on the patio or enjoy the live music from the picnic area on the greens. $5 cover for Sunday’s show.
