“Reverse the Trend of the Backseat Generation,” a webinar hosted by the Langdale Parent Advisory Council and Vancouver Coastal Health on Oct. 29, was well attended and brought a vibrant discussion around the topic of active travel.
The webinar recording and presentation links can be found at:
Other resources shared by presenters included the 2020 Canadian Physical Activity Report Card and Guy Faulkner’s 26-minute Running Free documentary, both also available online.
School District No. 46 is also piloting a map with several schools that identifies the safest routes to school. It will be available later in the fall following consultations with local parents.
Walking and cycling to school has the double bonus of promoting children’s health while reducing carbon emissions at the same time. For more information visit: sd46.bc.ca/active-travel/
