One person knows how to celebrate a milestone birthday in a very generous and musical way. Ken Melliquist is that man and, on his birthday, Sunday, Aug. 29 at 5 p.m., rain or shine, he is hosting another dock concert in Gunboat Bay with the outstanding Peter van Deursen and his band. All are welcome to join from your dock, deck or boat anchored in the bay. Enjoy and please follow the COVID guidelines. Thanks so much Ken and a very happy birthday!

Kitchensink Rescue and Farm Sanctuary is near and dear to many of our hearts in the Harbour. Yvonne, one of our cherished paramedics, with her husband Mike rescue and care for sweet souls and have quietly been doing so for more than 10 years, at their home in Roberts Creek. They are now a registered charity organization and welcome donations towards a massive vet bill for one of their horses, the beautiful Honey, now home and on the mend. There is also a donation box at Saturday Madeira Markets and a special “Honey” collection of horse-themed jewelry, proceeds to Kitchensink.

Saturday Madeira Markets, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., welcome Geri from Wilson Creek. The lovely, talented guitar player and songstress will be performing for your listening pleasure as you shop, have lunch or just relax in the shady gardens. Some of the vendors this weekend: Beads & Blooms, Judy’s Handcrafted Gifts, Peachtree Creations, Rachel’s Rocking Art, and Wendy’s Bakery (dog treats too!).

Music at The Clubhouse – Aug. 27, the fabulous, famous Jim Foster performs at the dinner show, 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday afternoon, 2 to 5 p.m., a special treat: an encore performance with Poppa Greg and his band. Last Sunday was just too good not to have some more. The place was packed, so make reservations. Bring your friends and your appetite! The quesadillas and deep-fried pickles are so delish.
