The Pender Harbour Garden Club is pleased to present Sandy Matches of Kleindale on Monday, April 8, at the School of Music, 1 to 3 p.m. Some might know him as Handy Sandy.

The monthly meeting of the Halfmoon Bay Branch of the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary is on Monday, April 8 at 9:45 a.m. at the Coopers Green Hall. Guests and visitors are always welcome.

In recognition of International Women’s Day, March 8, CFUW-SC once again supported Sunshine Coast Community Services (SCCS) by donating three full toolboxes to Denise Woodley, manager of the Together Against Violence program.

Last week Doug and Deb Proby announced that after 22 years of profitability, they had sold the Raven’s Cry Theatre business. The new owners, though, are practically neighbours.

Cedar Grove School’s inaugural Light up the Night Lantern Festival was a great success judging by the turnout and excited students showing their parents around. I enjoyed a delicious bowl of vegetarian chili and bought some yummy goodies.

This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, March 30 and 31, the Pender Harbour Music Society is proud to present the very gifted musicians, Kai Gleusteen on violin and Catherine Ordronneau, piano. Tickets are at Harbour Insurance and www.penderharbourmusic.

A reminder to all Halfmoon Bay runners and walkers that the BMO Sunshine Coast April Fool’s Run, presented by Eastlink, is Sunday, April 7. You can register by April 3 and save. There is also the kids’ run, which has a limited entry of 50.
