“This lady is turning 80,” the sign says. Sure enough, Mieke McIntosh of Davis Bay woke up the morning of May 12 – her 80th birthday – to find 80 flamingos and some pink and white balloons festooning her front lawn.

Hi everyone! What a week we’ve had on the Sunshine Coast! The weather was spectacular with warm temperatures and sunny skies. A little rain to help our gardens and flowers grow was an added treat.

First on the Sunshine Coast, first in Pender Harbour – a little charitable dispensary popped up at the Pender Harbour Community Church for neighbours in need. A Blessing Box offers non-perishable food items, toiletries, and other necessities.
